Job Description

The Junior Staff Engineer is responsible for supporting the organization’s goals by performing a range of duties in technical project support and coordination. This role contributes to the efficiency and success of the project team by providing engineering assistance, managing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with contract and engineering standards through detailed reviews and tracking. This role receives regular guidance and supervision as they develop technical and professional skills.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Creates and processes Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify project details and resolve technical questions.
  • Reviews and processes submittals to ensure alignment with project specifications and standards.
  • Performs overlay comparisons of construction plans and provides clear descriptions of any changes.
  • Conducts quantity take-offs and develops project-specific exhibits to support costings and planning.
  • Reviews subcontractor contracts to ensure compliance with project scope, terms, and engineering requirements.
  • Coordinates closely with the project team to clarify technical information and compliance.
  • Ensures all work aligns with applicable engineering standards and project contract requirements

Essential Skills

Technical

  • Basic proficiency in document control software (e.g., Procore, Box).
  • Familiarity with PDF editing, overlays, and drawing management tools (e.g., Bluebeam).
  • Ability to perform RFIs (Draft & Asbuilt), submittals review, overlays, takeoffs and coordination exhibits.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams and Outlook for communication and coordination.
  • Communication skill is at least intermediate (ELTS score: 6.5 or CEFR: B2 or higher)

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of business operations and workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction related field preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in building construction and/or estimating
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, Box, CMiC and Procore.
  • Able to do RFIs (Draft & Asbuilt), submittals review, overlays, takeoffs and coordination exhibits.
