Scope
The Estimating Engineer I is responsible for supporting the Preconstruction and Estimating team by managing document control, performing trade scoping and subcontractor analysis, and contributing to reporting and technology-driven estimating processes. This role ensures accurate and timely preparation of estimates and supports cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain and update document logs including package logs, RFI logs, and drawing logs.
- Perform document reconciliation, slip-sheeting, and updates to Box, Bidmail, and PlanGrid/Procore.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, addenda, RFIs, and bulletins for cost implications.
- Input scope of work and quantities for assigned trades, with a focus on Divisions 10–13.
- Ensure subcontractor coverage through outreach, follow-ups, and proposal analysis.
- Identify discrepancies, inclusions, and exclusions in subcontractor bids.
Essential Skills
Technical
- Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam, Box, and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with CSI divisions and estimating templates.
- Ability to interpret construction documents and identify cost impacts.
Business and Management
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Understanding of estimating workflows and subcontractor coordination.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil Engineer, or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in estimating, preconstruction, or related construction roles.
- Proficiency in OST, Bluebeam, Box, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Procore, PlanGrid, and Core Services Ticketing System is a plus.
