Job Description
The Assistant Project Engineer is in charge for supporting the organization’s goals by performing a range of duties in project coordination and technical operations. The primary function of the Project Engineer is to assist the project team in the administration and management of many of the activities associated with the construction project. This role contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and may involve cross-functional collaboration. This role receives regular guidance and supervision as they develop technical and professional skills.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conducts procurement by tracking key items and ensuring timely submittals.
- Assist in Maintaining Procore and document logs, record meeting minutes, and support closeout for timely document turnover.
- Interpret contract documents, handles RFIs and submittals, and supports design issue resolution and change order analysis, under the supervision of senior staff.
- Effectively communicates with the Owner, Design Team, Project Team, and Core Services.
Essential Skills
Technical
- Proficiency in document control software (e.g., Procore, Box).
- Skilled with PDF editing, overlays, and drawing management tools (e.g., Bluebeam).
- Basic understanding of construction workflows and procurement processes.
- Ability to manage RFIs, submittals, and other construction-related documents.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams and Outlook for communication and coordination.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Basic understanding of business operations and workflows.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction related field preferred.
- 2 years of relevant experience in building construction and/or estimating
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, Box, CMiC and Procore.
- Able to do RFIs (Draft & Asbuilt), submittals review, overlays, takeoffs and coordination exhibits.
- Able to be part of the project and has a strong understanding of construction workflows and procurement processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
